The images above are from a shoot for i-D Australia which debuted at their recent magazine launch. The story focuses on the New Zealand born model, Holly Rose Emery and her transition from a net ball playing high school student to an international supermodel.
Britt Mccamey styles the shoot in a way that depicts this limbo between seventeen year old girl to young woman. The deconstructed styling – half zipped, untidily rolled up – is achieved through the combination of street wear and high fashion labels, depicting this 'limbo' as a time of self discovery and growth.
From a visual perspective, the shoot paints Holly in a somber light dominated by hues of blue and green creating a mysterious ambience. We find our selves leaning in to know more – not of the girl we are reading about in the interview but the girl we see in those pictures.
