brunch

Posted on March 27th, 2011

(Topshop Jumper, DIY shorts, Vintage sunglasses/bracelet, Jeffrey Campbell Boots, Alexander Wang Bag) I spent the weekend out and about in the city with Luke. We ran a few errands, got lost due to my bad navigational skills, purchased a new bed frame from Ikea, went out for brunch at the coziest and yummiest cafe and even had time to shoot a few photos of my outfit down the side alley too! We've been making a conscious effort to try and remember to take our cameras with us if we ever leave the house, which has resulted in me blogging a lot more. Can you believe I blogged every day last week and even had to stop myself from blogging twice in one day? I received the most exciting email i've ever read since opening the store from Cosmo Magazine two weeks ago which has heavily inspired my influx of posts. Hopefully i can share the news with you all very, very soon! These shorts were a little DIY project i did over the weekend. I found this amazing mini pleated vintage fabric at an opshop last week and fell in love with how delicate and feminine it looked. I've always wanted a pair of pleated shorts but they seem to be impossible to find so I thought why not just make them myself? At least this way I know they'll be absolutely perfect and exactly how I want them. I finished the shorts off with a sheer black lace trim, which gave the hem a cute little frill and kind of made them borderline lingerie or something. Add my new Topshop jumper and Jeffrey Campbell Lita's and you're looking at the most comfortable outfit i probably own. How perfect for brunch it is!

a touch of lavender

(Gifted Modcloth Coat, Gifted Shona Joy Lace Dress, Topshop Socks, Vintage Bag, Miu Miu Heels) It seems my love for Autumn has well and truly kicked in. Cold enough to start wearing light cardigans, warm enough to still wear lace shorts. If it gets a tad cold? Add a pair of knee highs and hot cup of coffee and you're at just the right temperature and looking adorable too. Yes, autumn is and always has been my favourite season with a beautiful colour palette to match. Right now I'm loving maroons, camel, shades of red and burnt oranges for this season and have a feeling I'll be playing with bright colours and a touch of purple too.I received this beautiful lace dress from Australian designer Shona Joy and Modcloth coat back in December. The coat was a reward for being Modcloth's Blogger of the Month but unfortunately It's been too warm to even think about taking it out of the cupboard during summer so I'm only photographing it now. I absolutely love the faux fur collar and the length is just perfect. Do i even need to speak about the poms poms? By far my favourite part :)

Things seem to be pretty crazy here at the moment. I'm feeling more inspired than ever to be working towards a life where doors will open for you and can't help but think even if they don't, well, you just open them yourself.
