Maurie & Eve Playsuit / G2000 Cardigan / Kenneth Jay Lane Necklace / Edge of Ember / The Mode Collective / Celine Bag
I'm not entirely sure what it was that drew me to this playsuit by Maurie and Eve. I'm not usually one to wear playsuits as I think it's too easy to feel and look like an overgrown child. Although, considering my last photo I think that's already been achieved. But for me, this wasn't the typical playsuit. The luxurious looking fabric, the unique citrus and gold leaf print, the subtle peplum with pockets (yes, pockets in the peplum! Now there's a refreshing take on the trend) and the wide-leg shorts were a few things that caught my eye. I took this structured piece down a level by adding a soft citrus cardigan, and kept it playful with a pair of navy ankle boots that I'm kind of obsessed with. Trying to find ankle boots without the chunky and thick heel is near impossible. These have quickly become my every day boots that I wear If I'm grocery shopping, off to meetings, going out at night or even hopping around the waterfront with Jysla. I've been tempted to do a whole post on all of our outtakes as Jysla is one of those photographers who has the ability to capture those beautifully natural moments in life. Unfortunately for me there's nothing beautiful about my natural moments when she's caught me laughing or talking. The last one is passable for reasons I can't think of right now. I'm going to blame the playsuit for that.
