Patricia Chang Robot Dress and Clutch / Jennifer Zeuner Ring / Charlotte Olympia Heels

Somewhere in between meetings, shows and acting like a tourist I had the chance to finally meet Patricia Chang, the New York based designer who I did a post on here a few months ago in her ridiculously beautiful and heavily sequin embellished masterpiece. Sometimes you'll come across a few designers who you immediately know are destined for great things, and Patricia is one of them in my books. Her new SS 12/13 collection has to be one of my favourites I've seen all year and I love how she's mixed classic pieces with a youthful and quirky edge. Drawing inspiration from a coat she constructed for herself one night, Patricia was so inspired by the robotic theme that she redesigned her entire collection. I particularly fell in love with this pastel two-toned sorbet dress with a white collar and yellow robot buttons. Actually, I fell in love with the entire collection so please don't be surprised if you see me wearing more of her pieces in my posts to come! Her line is too perfect for Fashion Week and I feel so lucky to be able to wear and support a designer I truly believe in. I just love how many people comment on her pieces and then squeal when they realise the tiny details are in fact robots. Oh wait, the squealing is probably coming from me as I fall in love a little bit more every time I see her pieces. So much more to post so stay tuned! I'm currently in Milan for MFW after having a 4:30am start in London to make it to the Gucci show at 2pm the same day. So this is the craziness they call fashion week! I'm starting to feel a little bit like a robot myself. I suppose if it's the sorbet kind then I'm happy.

Alice McCall Dress / Zara Cardigan and Necklace / Samantha Wills Earrings / Charlotte Olympia Heels / Celine Bag

One of the highlights for me in New York City was being able to visit the Charlotte Olympia store and seeing first hand just how beautiful all of her shoes are in real life. As an Australian resident, we're pretty used to not being able to experience products or clothing that are easily accessible anywhere else in the world. The Topshop in Sydney is due to open in just over two weeks time, with our Zara being constantly swamped and over crowded. I can't even imagine what it would be like if we finally got a H&M and Urban Outfitters but come to think of it let's change the subject as I think I just heard thousands of hearts breaking. To me, Charlotte Olympia is the perfect shoe designer. She keeps beautiful shoes playful and quirky with just the right amount of platform for someone like me who isn't incredibly tall. She's innovative, she's desirable and in my books she's an absolute god. I've loved every single piece she's ever designed and if my bank account allowed it I would happily be that crazy shoe lady who collected each pair and stored them in their own separate room. Perhaps even stroking them at night and singing them lullabies. This is why it was impossible for me not to buy these red satin heels I've been drooling over for nearly a year. They were the perfect heels to finish my day one NYFW outfit and for dancing on the corner of streets in between shows whilst your hair is acting like an uncontrollable drunk. And I know what you're thinking... two posts in two days? Even I'm happy with myself there!
