Dion Lee Dress / Charlotte Olympia Heels / DVF Clutch

Last Tuesday night during MBFWA I attended the Dion Lee Show at the Sydney Opera House. Guests were treated to the unveiling and visual delight of Dion's new collection during an intimate and romantic candlelit dinner. Just before the chocolate soufflé desserts arrived, the room quietened, live music started and for the first time in my life I experienced just how magnificent the Sydney Opera House is with music playing within its iconic Australian walls.

For me, there's designers, then visionaries, then Dion Lee. A cut above the rest, Dion has continuted to carve an incredibly successful path with his innovative and unique designs, with each collection being as cohesive the next yet accompanied with a fresh and engaging perspective. This dress is from his new collection and as soon as I tried it on it immediately felt like a second skin, with its soft leather detail falling in all the right places to form what looked like white fins down my back and a fluted tail along the hemline. I'm not even going to attempt to explain just how obsessed with it I am.

I'm yet to come across anyone who's rivalled Dion Lee and after this spectacular show it's quite clear why he's number one, with his careful attention to detail transcending beyond his clothes and into every aspect of this flawless production. A perfect night where the clothes were even more mouth-watering than the food.

Wow. What a week. I guess you guys can imagine how busy it must have been if I went from updating every day Monday to Friday to nothing for nearly two weeks. I didn't even have time to announce exactly what was going on and before I knew it the week had started, I was sleep deprived and in a daze but running on an all time high. This MBFWA saw me take a new direction as the "Official Insider for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia", which meant I wasn't just attending the week but hosting it. This meant I was presenting live coverage by introducing shows, speaking to guests before and after the shows and also interviewing designers, editors, photographers, stylists, bloggers etc that would be streamed live online and at the Pop-Up Pelicano Bar at Martin Place in Sydney (one of the busiest parts of Sydney CBD) and also appear on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week website. This was my first time at presenting so what I learnt in the space of five short days was invaluable.

Somehow Zanita worked her magic and managed to take these photos in between interviews. We literally took these in the space of five minutes and also squeezed in a few minutes of catching up before we both raced off for another show. The best part of MBFWA is being able to see all of your dear friends in one place (who are dressed in fabulous outfits, of course) and catching up over the celebration of beautiful Australian fashion.
